Marsala, 17th of March 2018. ICU participated in the workshop “Collection and reuse of treated wastewater” held at the San Pietro Monumental Complex and organized by the Municipality of Marsala. ICU presented its international experience of the ACCBAT project that promoted the use of treated wastewaters for irrigation in more than 60 hectares in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia. ICU has also presented a pilot action for the reuse of treated wastewater in agriculture in the Municipality of Marsala in collaboration with the Municipality of Marsala and the Sicilian Region.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Marsala, Dr. Alberto Di Girolamo, the head of the Department of Water and Waste of the Sicilian Region, the University of Palermo and the management company of the Marsala wastewater treatment plant to share a common approach to treatment and reuse of wastewaters for civil, irrigation and industrial purposes.
