Overview:
1) To contribute to the capacity of Non State Actors traditionally involved in the promotion of peace to support the dialogue and reconciliation initiatives in East African Countries (Kenya, Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Ethiopia and Tanzania) threatened by conflicts and crises, through the creation of a “Permanent Round Table on Instruments for Stability in East African Countries”.
Activities:
– creation of the “Permanent Round Table” (PRT) on Instruments for Stability in East Africa Countries;
– implementation of the 6th edition of the Strathmore International Ethics Conference in Nairobi;
– development of a database on the historical conflicts in Sub Saharan Africa;
– production of best practices for peaceful conflict management;
– implementation of training sessions in order to strengthen the capacity of the Non State Actors involved in
the Permanent Round Table on Instruments for Stability in East Africa Countries.
Results:
– “Permanent Round Table” (PRT) on Instruments for Stability in East Africa Countries implemented;
– the 6th edition of the Strathmore International Ethics Conference in Nairobi realized;
– database on the historical conflicts in Sub Saharan Africa starting from the 1981 to now developed;
– four technical reports on best practices for peaceful conflict management produced;
– 5 training sessions addressed to the involved stakeholders realized.
