Overview:
To create an healthcare network, the adjustment of house and school infrastructures and training on health issues and nutrition.
Activities:
- selection of staff;
- completion of 270 medical short visits per year;
- completion of 6 medical large visits per year;
- training of 60 health promoters and 60 midwives;
- pavement of courtyards of the 30 schools;
- distribution of 30 Onil stoves in schools and 300 Onil stoves in 300 families (10 per community);
- distribution of filters to purify water in 30 schools and 300 houses (10 per community);
- rehabilitation/construction of toilets of 30 schools and septic tanks for 300 houses (10 per community);
- installation of 30 dispensaries (one per community);
- training of mothers of primary school pupils about hygiene and nutrition;
- training of primary school pupils in personal and environmental hygiene and establishment of a school committee of hygiene in every school.
Results:
- 52 short medical visits and 8 large medical visits performed;
- 6,146 medical visits performed;
- 5,650 students of primary schools of the 30 communities trained on hygiene and nutritional topics and provided with a personal hygiene kit;
- 30 hygiene committees formed by 14 students of the different schools each, provided with an ambient hygiene kit to be used for the tidiness of the school places;
- rehabilitation/construction of toilets of 30 schools realized;
- rehabilitation/construction of toilets in 294 houses.
