Third International Conference of the ACCBAT project – Baq’a, Jordan, November 19th 2015.

In the framework of the ACCBAT project on November 19th 2015 will be held in Jordan the third International Conference of the project that will be held at NCARE premises in Baq’a.

ACCBAT (Adaptation to Climate Change through improved water demand management in irrigated agriculture by introduction of new technologies and best agricultural practices) is a 3-year project for a total budget of 4,998,952.50 Euro promoting environmental sustainability through the increase of water-use efficiency and the use of treated wastewater for agricultural irrigation in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia. The project is co-financed by the European Union (90%) under the ENPI CBCMed Programme, of which Regione Sardegna is the Joint Managing Authority.

The conference “The ACCBAT strategic project: objectives leading to results” will aim to share the advancements of the project activities carried out by ICU – Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria Onlus, coordinator of the project and its partners: NCARE, the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, and the Italian River Po Basin Authority. A presentation of a common Water Quality Index developed within the project and valuable for all Mediterranean countries involved in the project will also be presented to the public.

In conjunction with the International Conference, a visit of the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the ACCBAT pilot site for the agriculture irrigation with treated wastewater in Ramtha will also take place.

The event will start at 9.00 a.m. The visit to Ramtha will be realized in the afternoon.
