ICU, in collaboration with the construction company selected through tender, has completed on February the works scheduled for the rehabilitation of the Sed El Boushrieh school, within the project “Support for schools of Wadi Al Arayesh and Ain Kfarzabad (Zahle) to ensure a fair access to quality education on the part of the students victim of the Syrian crisis “, funded by the Italian Cooperation.
The Lebanese Ministry of Education has checked and approved the results and signed a letter of completion delivery.
In detail:
- 120 m2 of aluminum windows were installed
- 16 m2 of roof waterproofing was realized
- 14 doors in the 2 bathrooms on the ground floor have been repaired and installed
- 2 sinks in 2 bathrooms on the ground floor have been fixed
- 12 taps in the 2 bathrooms on the ground floor have been replaced
- 5 separators were installed in the 2 bathrooms on the ground floor.
Sed El Boushrieh School is located in Beirut, in the Mount Lebanon area. It is a mixed school built in 1956, an old building that is in a state of apparent degradation due to non-execution of maintenance work. It is attended by about 805 students from the ages of 4 and 16 years, including Iraqi refugees and Syrian refugees.
