On April 11th, 2016 the closing ceremony of the training course for the local staff within the framework of the Health Emergency Project in Iraqi Kurdistan has been held in the Hiwa Hospital.
The course was organized by some of the greatest Italian experts in the field of haematology and infectious diseases, in order to provide local operators with the necessary tools to be able to start the business.
55 professionals from all health sectors participated in the training course. The diplomas ceremony was attended by the most important regional media, as well as by distinguished members of the Kurdish health system, and Dr. Segio Quattrocchi, the representative of the Italian Cooperation of Erbil.
Thanks to this training, local professionals will be able to start the transplant activities, at first accompanied by Italian professionals during training missions, and then autonomously.
Thanks to ICU, will be created the first centre of the nation’s stem cell transplants, and Hiwa Hospital Hub will become a landmark in this sense, throughout the geographic area involved.
